48 STARS is a non-profit film company
personalizing the human experiences
of the World War II generation.
In the midst of the 20th Century, war unfurled and engulfed the world, claiming countless lives, and unveiling the remarkable endurance and fortitude of individuals. This tumultuous period ignited the flames of many subsequent movements and left an indelible imprint on hearts and minds across the world.
For Americans, these narratives of life during that era emerged beneath the banner of their nation, symbolized by a 48-star flag. From these profound dialogues, we weave together a vibrant tapestry of recollections and encounters, expertly captured through the medium of film, thus safeguarding an integral fragment of history. As the WWII generation rapidly recedes from the present, it becomes a treasury of irreplaceable insights. As such, this cinematic endeavor appeals to individuals of all generations yearning to grasp and internalize history in its most authentic form - through the firsthand accounts of those who bore witness.
Meticulously crafted over more than five years, encompassing 48 interviews and traversing 50,000 miles, we have meticulously compiled an expansive repository of chronicles. These stories provide a lens into the WWII era, as recounted by those who directly experienced it - veterans, civilians, participants, and resisters. Venturing from the throes of deadly combat to the spark of revolutionary inspiration, our project, aptly named "48 STARS," delves into the unexpected revelations, poignant moments, and the essence of each individual's journey.
48 STARS is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. All donations to 48 STARS are tax-deductible. Any donation helps our effort in completing 48 STARS and preserving the history of the WWII generation.
